back

I am back at work after my trip to the woods.

Woods were good. It rained every couple hours, and it was colder than forecast. There were mosquitos everywhere. My reaction to mosquito bites is still pretty mild; I have some spots, but very little itching or swelling. Black flies, horse flies and deer flies were kept away by the cold and rain. Despite all this, I still had fun.

Glad you survived and had fun! We had mosquitos too, and thus I learned not to try painting in the middle of a swamp, alone, at dusk. Either that or I need to start packing a portable transfusion kit. *g*

A couple of the people with us had mesh mosquito jackets and hoods that covered thier faces; that sort of getup might be enough to keep the bugs off, though I dunno if you'd be able to see well enough to paint at dusk through the hood.

We did a lot better once we got a fire going - everytime bugs started swarming, we threw on more pine needles to chase 'em away, but I suspect that would interfere with the painting even more than the bug screen.
