weird mood

For some reason I am feeling very twitchy and paranoid today.

I am really, really hating that my desk is set up with my back to the door.

I want to curl up in a ball in a corner somewhere and keep all people away.

I'm also just having problems sitting still.

I had some very odd dreams last night. I don't remember the content, but I do recall that none of them were pleasant. For that matter, I think I even had unpleasant dreams while sleeping on the subway/bus this morning.

All of this may simply be a side effect of the head cold I'm coming down with. Mostly, I want a nap right now. A nap in a heavily fortified room.

Oh man... I hate the whole back to the door thing, too. Feng Shui wise, at least, it's one of the least energetic and least powerful positions. I don't know what your office politics dictate, but I know the first thing I did when I moved into my office was arrange it such that my monitor was facing a wall and that I had a clear view of anyone making the effort to fully step into my office.

You have my sympathies.

Re:
Unfortunately, I have a cubicle with the desk attached to the cube walls. It can be rearranged, but it's a half-day long task, so I have to wait until there's an empty enough day to do it on, or else come in on the weekend to do it.

The newer cubes are even worse; only 1/2 height walls, and there's no way to adjust the desk so that you can face outwards.

The idea is that that way management can wander by and see what's on your monitor without you necessarily noticing them there.
