huh.

I didn't get enough sleep, and I was wiped yesterday. Strangely enough, I am not tired enough to need caffeine to keep going. My body has apparently decided to give me a pass on sleep for today. I may crash out eventually, but for now, I just feel a pleasant sense of detachment. Hooray for brain misfires that make me feel unreasonably good instead of unreasonably bad!

In other news, my inner thighs are incredibly sore.

Also, I need to get bobbins tonight on my way home. I should also get a metre stick at some point. I am going to take several short cuts on my robe, but they should all be correctable later if I decide I want this thing to be of higher quality.

that icon almost starts to explain the very sore inner thighs...

but inquiring minds would love to hear the whole story.

The reality is not very exciting, sadly - a hard workout at the gym on Wednesday, combined with suddenly moving into a cold environment with no cooldown or stretching.

To put it anothwr way, though, I could say that my thighs are sore from spending a couple hours grunting and sweating in a room with several other men and women, before a sudden stop.

OK. That re-write and spin made my Friday afternoon. Hands-down.

Should work wonderfully vegan - the only reason I went with lard over shortening is that neither of us on this trip are supposed to be eating soy, and soy oil was ingredient #1 on the vegetable…

That looks great. The opposite of what I'm trying to do the next time I make bannock (gluten's fine, dairy isn't) but now I'm inspired.

The trick is that it requires either an oven or an actual camp fire. We might be able to take it to the singing fire - one can make the packets up in advance, then rotate them through the irons.

That fire-roasted sweet bannock sounds amazing. Is this a thing we could try at KG?

I don't know about you, but this is all part of my general scheme to be someone my teenaged self would have thought was cool. Or maybe become Batman. Either is good.
