Hrm. Coffee machines... of doom?!

Here at work, we have coffee machines that dispense mixtures of various brown beverages. Among these brown options is hot chocolate, of which I occasionally partake. I am beginning to suspect, though, that sometimes the machine doesn't clean out the previously prepared beverage properly. Because, I am starting to think that hot chooclate I had earlier today has caffeine in it. I certainly had a jolt of energy when I drank it, but at the time I just thought I was noticing the sugar more than usual. My anxiety levels have been through the roof since then, however, and I'm typing faster than I usually can, which suggests to me, along with the splitting headache, that I've inadvertently consumed caffeine.

Not that I don't have plenty of things to get stressed about on my own, but I was feeling fine this morning...

Chocolate does have a little bit of caffeine in it on its own, but I can usually drink the stuff from the machine without ill effect. When I have exceeded my ability to remain conscious on my own, I am fond of decaf + hot chocolate myself - I love the taste of coffee, I just can't handle the caffeine, even in decaf, very often without a negative impact on my health.

Coffee. Best mixed with chocolate.

Hope you feel better soon.
How long does it usually take to work out of your system?

It depends on how much I've had - I've been up for two days on a single mug of strong tea before. More likely, though, I'll just be wound up for the rest of the day, and need a couple stiff drinks before bed.
