Steampunk/NeoVictoriana in Toronto

Two upcoming events labelled as "neovictorian" or "steampunk" in Toronto (they're related, but still).

Anyone interested? zingerella, I figure at least the clothing part might catch your interest. I'm trying to decide if I want to go to either.

The links:
A music video shoot asking for extras with steampunk/neovictorian outfits. I really hope it's not 30+ C on the weekend, or they will be more steamed than steampunk.

NeoVitorian Nightmares, a club event with live bands (Android Lust!), a reading, and a fashion show.

I am tempted by both, and could be convinced to going if I had company.

Finding a nifty looking pocket watch last night has convinced me that I must go. I hope I'll see you two there. :)

I am tempted by both, but I am out of town this weekend and the NeoVictorian Nightmares show is the same night as my ballet classes. Drat!

I am already slated to be at Neo-Victorian Nightmares to take pictures for To Die For Designs. It would be cool to see you there too.

Cool! Assuming that I get some sleep between now and then, I'll see you there.

Sigh. This weekend is a thing of craziness for me! The Bad-tempered Goddess is coming to town on Friday night, and we're supposed to hang on Saturday, before I leave for a tryst on Saturday night. That said, dressing up is a favourite activity with the BTG, so I'll see if she might be interested in being a steampunk movie extra.

The Neo-Victorian Nightmares sounds fascinating, but conflicts with Grammar for Schlubs.

Heh. Thanks to this post of yours I'll be there too [don't know about *seeing* ya though... technically, as long as you are there I will probably *see* you but if there's no recognition behind it is it really *seeing*? I think I've *seen* you (as in, there you--curgoth--are) once (and I remember that being back in the mists of time at C4)]. :D

Well, I'll be the one in black... If we can figure out who each is, we can say hi. :)

Should work wonderfully vegan - the only reason I went with lard over shortening is that neither of us on this trip are supposed to be eating soy, and soy oil was ingredient #1 on the vegetable…

That looks great. The opposite of what I'm trying to do the next time I make bannock (gluten's fine, dairy isn't) but now I'm inspired.

The trick is that it requires either an oven or an actual camp fire. We might be able to take it to the singing fire - one can make the packets up in advance, then rotate them through the irons.

That fire-roasted sweet bannock sounds amazing. Is this a thing we could try at KG?

I don't know about you, but this is all part of my general scheme to be someone my teenaged self would have thought was cool. Or maybe become Batman. Either is good.
